We were delighted to be awarded the accolade of Best Residential Project at the 2019 Contract Flooring Awards.
We scooped the top prize for the installation of our Deco Silver Haze wood floors in a new London Riverside Apartment Development, alongside V4 Approved Retailer Rawlings Flooring who completed the install.
Both V4 and Rawlings attended the awards lunch in London and were presented the award by the 1988 Winter Olympics ski jumping legend, Eddie ‘the eagle’ Edwards.

About the project
Boat Race House in Mortlake, West London underwent an incredible transformation as the former malt house, which had since been converted for office use, was redeveloped into 16 luxury apartments set in this picturesque and sought-after location on the banks of The Thames.
The residential redevelopment design focused on a modern interpretation of the historical use of the site, maintaining the buildings external features and form while adding a new sensitively designed upper storey to the building, and converting the inside space to residential use creating 16 beautiful riverside apartments.
The developer had worked with Rawlings Flooring previously and asked them to specify engineered wood floors for installation into all 16 of the completed apartments. They wanted wood flooring that would reflect the high-end luxurious style of the apartments, as well as complement the contemporary finishes, soft interior tones and riverside setting.

V4 Wood Flooring’s Deco Silver Haze wood floors were selected. The wood planks feature beautiful oak character detailing, which has been lightly brushed to soften the grain, then wood lye is added to further lighten the surface before coloured oils are added to create the unique soft grey tones and ripples found in each plank.
The floors blend effortlessly with the inside space, working alongside the soft hues used throughout the apartments interior design and finishes, but also create an harmonious connection to the silver ripples reflecting from the outside riverscape.

Deco Silver Haze was installed in all 16 apartments, featuring throughout all the living spaces, hallways and kitchen areas. New raised wood sub floors, finished with latex screed, were completed and underfloor heating installed throughout each home ahead of the installation of some 1500m2 of wood flooring throughout the development, completed in under three months.

Rawlings team worked incredibly hard to complete the project and the finished apartments look contemporary and stylish with the new floors installed.
We were both delighted to be acknowledged with this award – and thrilled to meet Eddie the Eagle!
