Area are expert creators of bespoke workplace environments, working closely with a team of skilled professionals to deliver high-performing office solutions always with the utmost quality. Working over 2,500 projects across over 30 countries in the last two decades, Area is ready to take on any project to provide their clients with innovative solutions to their workplace needs. And the current project is no exception, with Area creating a commercial office space for one of their very own branches.
Having previously had their teams spread across multiple floors, for this new design Area were keen to create a space that would connect people, whilst offering practical segmentation, creating a sophisticated design that mirrors the company’s growth over the years, as Design Director Kathryn O’Callaghan-Mills explains:
“Warm colours, an exciting sustainable approach to material selection, and a natural aesthetic define this new space. The design language promotes a certain maturity to it that responds to how our studio has evolved over the past two decades.”
To that end, when it came to choosing the flooring Area specified a bespoke engineered parquet floor from V4 Wood Flooring. Taking the colour from our AL107, Pebble Grey which offers cool muted tones, whilst still maintaining a rustic charm, and created a bespoke herringbone floor. The result is a hardwearing brushed and colour oiled herringbone floor that embodies plenty of character making for the perfect natural backdrop for the remainder of the design.
The bespoke parquet flooring offers a beautiful and seamless flow, as the parquet style weaves around the ‘interior ribbon’ office design. This style helps to connect all areas of the workspace, perfectly aiding the design goal ‘to connect people’ throughout the office, as CEO Gary Chandler comments: “Our new space will not only deliver on the desired aesthetic, but also enable a far more flexible, agile and modern working platform for our people to connect and thrive in”.
