Equilibrium

Thick French oak lamella finished in sumptuous natural earthy tones is backed on to Scandinavian fir which is expertly pressed between a base layer of the same French oak that gives this floor its name, Equilibrium. The tension created by the equal top and bottom oak layers makes this Italian made collection our most stable engineered floor and allows for extra wide and extra long planks that will span large areas and different climates.

Linia Eco

Linia Eco is a new even more sustainable way to engineer hardwood flooring. A precision micro sliced top layer allows much higher yield from the sustainably sourced European Oak, whilst the core is made of high density wood fibres from fast growing spruce. The surface is protected with a flexible lacquer that closes around any potential surface scratching, which makes it durable and easy to live on. The result is a collection of beautiful oak floors in a natural rustic grade which includes only subtle knots and variation for a clean design, with subtle warm tones and hardwearing finishes.

ZB101 Frozen Umber

Owner Mac explained, “We liked our parquet wood floors, but the damaged floor, having been installed many years ago was no longer available with Rose Wood now on the endangered wood list, so it was back to the drawing board for a new and more environmentally friendly floor.

“I was keen to keep the same traditional herringbone style but happy to move towards a modern parquet option.”

Mac searched the V4 Wood Flooring website and was immediately drawn to the new Deco Parquet collection.

Launched in 2016 Deco Parquet is a new collection of parquet floors from V4 Wood Flooring which takes six of the most popular engineered wood floor finishes from the DECO and Urban Nature wood plank collections, and applies these to engineered wood parquet blocks. Deco Parquet overcomes many of the installation difficulties of solid oak blocks, and the floors can be laid in a herringbone pattern to form a modern parquet floor.

The Deco Parquet parquet floors can also be used with under floor heating, and the 4 mm oak top layer is bonded to a hardwood ply base which has a tongue and grooved system so the installation of a parquet floor becomes quick and easy without compromising on style or authenticity.

Mac selected Frozen Umber as it offered a soft tone that would sit neutrally in the home and enable colour schemes to come and go over the years that would continue to work with the floor.

The floors were supplied and installed by TB Elliot Flooring throughout the entire ground floor. The damaged parquet was removed and a new sub floor laid to ensure all water damage was removed before skilled installation of the Deco Parquet wood blocks to ensure they ran seamlessly throughout the entrance hallway, lounge and kitchen with the herringbone pattern maintained in sequence through each space.

Mac is delighted with the new wood floors, “I really am over the moon at how good it looks. We’ve kept the traditional parquet look but with a contemporary finish and style. The product is really well made and the quality of installation is excellent. We’ve since gone on to finish decorating the downstairs and can finally relax again in our home, with all the damage fixed and a wood floor that we absolutely love.”
