Woking developer gives latest project the Deco Parquet herringbone wood floor treatment

Luxuria Developments is a residential property firm specialising in building new family homes in the Woking, Surrey area. Their latest project was in a prime town centre location in Woking, just off the Kingsway.  Originally one house with a large garden, the team worked closely with the owner to help secure planning to demolish the home and build two five bedroom family homes on the plot. We stepped in to assist in getting the proposals through planning for the owner, who was keen to move, and once granted we completed the purchase and our latest development got underway. We always look to finish our homes to the highest specification, aspiring for each project to fit into their existing environment with a combination of contemporary and classic elements. These two five bedroom homes were designed to offer modern and spacious family living, alongside landscaped gardens and the highest quality specification. The homes feature Villeroy & Boch bathrooms, Neptune solid wood kitchens and luxurious Farrow and Ball paints.

“Flooring was so important; we wanted this to be contemporary with a classic twist, in keeping with the overall interior design of the new homes.”

Luxuria has been using V4 wood floors since the wood flooring company was established in 2002. Starting with their first range of traditional oak planks and specifying newer, contemporary wood floor styles and finishes for their projects as the V4 range has developed over the years.

“For these homes we had modern parquet blocks in mind, but when we looked at the latest V4 collection the solid oak blocks they offered were smaller than we wanted. Then they launched Deco Parquet around the same time we had to make a decision and we jumped on it. It was perfect.”

The homes feature Silver Haze from the Deco Parquet collection.  The new herringbone wood floors offer the perfect combination of modern colouring with traditional parquet style to meet the developer’s interior design aspirations.

“The tone of the wood blocks is so contemporary and they work really well with all elements of the internal design. We’ve had the flooring installed throughout the downstairs living spaces, apart from the snug which has carpet. The floors promote natural light and bring together all the different finishes effortlessly. This was the first time our carpenter had installed an engineered wood block with a tongue and grove system and it was completely trouble free. Even the team of carpet fitters working in the snug were amazed how good the engineered blocks looks, assuming they must have been solid wood. The floating nature of the engineered blocks means they offer an allowance for movement, which is essential in a new build, and unlike traditional solid wood parquet blocks, the floor works with the under floor heating which has been installed throughout the downstairs of each home.”

“All of the V4 wood floors we have used in the past have been trouble free and easy to maintain and clean, and Deco Parquet has proved no different. We are delighted with the finish and with our next project about to get underway we will definitely be using V4 wood floors again.”
