Eiger Phoenix Brushed & Grey Oiled Plank Installation, Llŷn Peninsula, North Wales

PH102 Oak Brushed & Grey Oiled

A natural environment for  Phoenix Brushed & Grey Oiled Rustic Oak Flooring

The National Trust protect some of the most important spaces and places in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, keeping them accessible for everyone. The Llyn Peninsula in North Wales is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the ideal starting point for any visitor now looking to explore the area is the National Trust’s new Porth y Swnt, Coastal Tourism Centre of Excellence, based in Aberdaron.

This new Centre has been built at the heart of the picture-postcard village of Aberdaron on the Llŷn Peninsula, where it sits amongst a picturesque cluster of higgledy-piggledy white-washed houses that huddle around a beautiful medieval seaside-church.

It was essential to the Centre’s design team that the interior fit-out reflected this naturally beautiful part of North Wales to give visitors an essence of what they will experience when exploring the Peninsula.

With over 185m2, a real and authentic wood floor was the specified choice to achieve this, and when they got in touch with local V4 Woodflooring retailer Ross Hughes flooring in nearby Caernarfon they were drawn to the rustic appeal of V4’s Eiger Phoenix range, and in particular the PH102 Oak Rustic Brushed & Grey Oiled Plank which is coloured with a light grey oil which along with the brushed grain enhances the natural beauty of the long oak planks.

Being 100% FSC certified was also an important factor in choosing a V4 wood floor as all of the flooring is manufactured in FSC and PEFC certified factories where the wood is responsibly and ethically sourced from well managed forests.

With installation complete, the result is a natural hardwood floor that highlights the oaks natural grain, creating a subtle yet tactile backdrop for the engaging spaces found inside the Tourism Centre, its pale grey shades mirroring the tones of the nearby bay.

The exciting new interpretation centre now showcases the special qualities which make the Llŷn Peninsula so unique in terms of history, culture and environment. Visitors are invited to come in and explore, learn, reflect and enjoy the surroundings whilst getting inspiration for activities, walks, attractions and things to do on the peninsula.
