What is Engineered Wood Flooring?
All engineered wood flooring starts with a sturdy base of layered plywood, which in the case of our Driftwood collection is then cut with secure lock system fittings around each plank. Then comes the top layer (which we call a ‘lamella’) which is made from high-grade European oak, and is finally micro-bevelled on four sides to give a smooth and seamless look when connected.
Finally, our skilled team of craftspeople in Yorkshire step in to brush and treat the oak surface, depending on the tone and texture we want to achieve – for example, the Driftwood collection wears our UV lacquer, which provides brilliant all-round protection and an unbeatable look.

All the timber we use, from our European oak to our multi-ply base, is sourced from FSC-approved managed woodlands. These plots are specifically cultivated to meet supply demand without harming the surrounding ecosystem. Each tree is monitored and treated for signs of ill growth and disease spread, which ensures a high yield for every crop.
For every tree that is taken, several fast-growing saplings are planted in its place, which feeds the cycle and ensures our environmental impact is kept at an all-time low.
