    Grey comes in many shades of light and dark and works beautifully with warm base tones of our European Oak surfaces. Light greys add a faded industrial aesthetic perfect for minimal designs.     Creating light floors requires a deep understanding of how the raw timber reacts to lacquers and oil finishes. We offer a range of light floors which maintain the look of raw untreated oak with it's pale washed out tones while still giving a hard wearing floor surface that are both beautiful and practical to live on.

    White floors open up spaces and flood buildings with light to create a real feeling of spring and summer even on the darkest winter days. Oak can be treated with reactive dyes which give a bleaching effect whilst white stain is applied by rollers and buffed in to penetrate the top surface of the board and then sealed with either oil or lacquer, resulting in extra emphasis of the natural figure of the wood.

    Wood flooring is easy to keep in great condition. Both lacquered and oiled finishes are semi permeable allowing the wood to breathe. This means you should avoid using harsh chemical and abrasive cleaners on your hardwood or laminate wood floors. Many ‘supermarket’ brands claim to work well on all surfaces including wood floors but most should be avoided as they contain high acidic or caustic ingredients that will quickly compromise the lacquered or oiled surface of your floor, destroying the water and stain resistant properties.
