Choose the right finish

All our floors are finished to the highest level to suit the type of surface. Choosing the right surface for your needs is an important factor in choosing your perfect floor. Each finish has distinctive characteristics and may need varying degrees of care and maintenance.

Natural Oil

This is the most natural finish for a wood floor. Oil is applied to the surface and buffed in impregnating the pores of the wood so that it is saturated. The surface is then air dried for an extremely matt natural feel and appearance. Natural Oiled floors should always have an initial coat of maintenance oil applied after installation.

Finish: The most natural finish of any, creating a deep lustre whilst maintaining the tactile surface of the wood.

Usage: Perfect for living rooms and bedrooms and environments where outdoor shoes are not worn.

Care: Use a pH neutral spray cleaner for regular cleaning. Avoid scratches by minimizing surface dust and grit, use felt pads to protect from furniture. Wipe up any spillages quickly.

Maintenance: Initial application of Ciranova Maintenance Oil Clear Matt after installation with periodic application thereafter which will depend on usage. It is recommended to use Ciranova® intensive cleaner before applying Ciranova® maintenance oil.

UV Oil

Like a natural oiled floor oil is buffed into the floor saturating the surface. Several Coats of oil are applied and each coat is cured quickly with a UV light which allows a surface to film to build. UV cured oiled floors are tougher than natural cured oil floors and have more of a sheen to the surface.

Finish: A satin sheen is added to the oiled surface of the wood.

Usage: Perfect for living rooms and bedrooms. In kitchens and dining rooms extra maintenance is recommended.

Hardwax Oil

Coats of hardwax oil are buffed into the top layer. The high solid oil oxidises to form a wax surface.

Finish: A rich, smooth and durable surface.

Usage: Perfect for living rooms and bedrooms. In kitchens and dining rooms extra maintenance is recommended.

Care: Use a pH neutral spray cleaner for regular cleaning. Avoid scratches by minimizing surface dust and grit, use felt pads to protect from furniture. Wipe up any spillages quickly.

Lacquer

The top layer is spray coated with multiple coats of primer and then two coats of durable UV cured lacquer (varnish).

Finish: A smooth hard wearing and low maintenance surface which enhances the natural grain and beauty of the wood.

Usage: Ideal for kitchens and dining rooms where there is high risk of food and drink spills.

Care: Use a pH neutral spray cleaner for regular cleaning.  Avoid scratches by minimizing surface dust and grit, use felt pads to protect from furniture. Wipe up any spillages quickly.

Maintenance: After long term use can be lightly sanded to key the lacquered surface so that an extra coat of lacquer can then be applied.
